Following this curriculum myself, some of the resources recommended did not work for me, so I had to chose different options. In the table below I have listed those alternatives (Free and/or paid) I opted for and would suggest to learners like me.
Every resource is clickable and redirects you to their space on the internet to allow you access them easily.

The suggested alternatives have similar curriculums to the SVS class and are pretty amazing too. They’re packed with reach content tips and information. Jama’s seems to focus on Photoshop in some lessons however. They’re both one-time buy with life time access.
If you’d rather have a free alternative, Neha Rastogi’s Composition fundamentals Playlist is a great choice. It does have the video/audio version of the suggested books for this section.

Now is a great time to pick up Austin Kleon’s Steal Like an Artist. You’ll be focusing on effective storytelling here and might use a reference or 200. | *Molly Bang’s Picture this : How Pictures Work.
****Andrew Loomis’s Creative Illustration
Famous Artists School’s Composition - How to make pictures* | *Austin Kleon’s ***Steal Like an Artist | Film Grab *Every Single Frame Screen Musings Shots Cafe* | | | | | | | | | | | | 2 | Anatomy I - Head | Marco Bucci’s Understanding And Painting The Head | Video | Paid | This class focuses on Loomis’ method for drawing the head.
What I loved the most was the approach Marco Bucci took in breaking the head down into simplified parts that allows you look at the head more as a combination of simple shapes that make up a unified structure.
This makes drawing the head more intuitive and less intimidating. As I assembled the parts, I was better equipped to visualize and map out the other features of the face (like the nose) and where they rest on the face.
I admit, I did could not see how it made any sense at the beginning. Now, I 1000% would recommend this one! | *Andrew Loomis’ Drawing The Head and Hands*
